Removing Salt Deposits

Clap pots specifically acquire a lot of salt deposits built up on the sides of the pots. Don’t throw the pot out when you see these because this tip will teach you how to remove them. All you need to do is combine equal amounts of white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and water in a spray bottle. Make sure it is mixed well. Spray the mixture on the pot, then scrub the pot with a coarse brush. All you must do after that is let the pot dry before you start planting.

Dirt Under Your Fingernails

No one likes to have dirty fingernails, and if you let your fingernails go, the dirt will accumulate under your nails. A great tip to keep your fingernails clean while you’re gardening is to keep a bar of soap with you. Draw your fingernails across the bar of soap to seal the underneath of your nails so they don’t collect dirt. After you’re finished gardening, use a nail brush to remove the soap and wash your hands. This will keep your nails looking sparkly clean.

Long-handled Tools

Long-handled tools can make for great measuring sticks while you’re gardening. Place the long handle down next to a measuring tape. Use a marker to mark inches and feet on the handle of the tool. This is helpful when you need to plant plants a certain distance from each other. No need to go out and buy an overpriced measuring tool.

Tea and Coffee Grounds

Do you drink tea and coffee? Maybe you only indulge in one of these, but either way, you can use them to acidify your soil. There are many beautiful acid-loving plants like azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias, and more. Take your used coffee or tea grounds and sprinkle about a quarter inch over the soil once per month to keep the soil on the acidic side.
