Ram Commercial recently unveiled the 2023 Ram ProMaster at a Work Truck Week trade show from the National Truck Equipment Association. What’s New for 2023?

The 2023 Ram ProMaster will feature an exclusive rear roll-up door constructed with anodized aluminum for weight optimization. This will make cargo loading/unloading easier for vocational and delivery customers. The ProMaster is now powered by the next-generation 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and generates 276 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. It is paired to a segment-exclusive TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission. Ram Commercial will eventually introduce a battery-electric ProMaster in 2023.

Exterior Design

On the outside, the ProMaster features an updated aesthetic that exudes rugged styling. The new front-end design includes standard halogen or (optional) LED headlights and fog lights with improved durability. Ram also added a three-piece front fascia that positions the headlights out of the slow speed collision zone. The ProMaster also features a modular bumper with an integrated step to aid drivers.

Standard Safety Features

The 2023 Ram ProMaster includes a variety of standard advanced safety features such as Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist. This newer system works by helping to guide drivers in and out of parking spaces using ultrasonic sensors. This will ultimately make deliveries much easier on busy city roads. Additional standard safety features include:

• Full-speed forward collision warning
• Crosswind assist
• Rear backup camera with dynamic gridlines
• Post collision braking
• Drowsiness detection
• Traffic sign recognition
• Push-button starter
• Keyless entry for all doors
• Electric parking brake

Commercial Customers for the New ProMaster

Amazon is destined to be the first commercial customer for the new Ram ProMaster EV, an all-electric version set to launch in 2023. This vehicle is engineered with unique last-mile delivery features. Ram and Amazon have a long-term agreement to put thousands of BEV ProMaster Vans out on the road each year. The companies will continue to work together as a part of the effort by Amazon to become carbon neutral by 2040.
