Homemade Sushi? Just Roll With It!

Making sushi at home may sound daunting and difficult, but we promise it’s way easier than you’d expect it to be. While it may not look like absolute perfection the first time you make it in comparison to how an expert chef would, we promise it’ll still taste amazing. Plus, making sushi at home means you can make it exactly how you want it and it’s much cheaper than eating it at a restaurant. Feel free to make and eat as much as you like with the peace of mind that comes with knowing this meal costs way less than it would if you were going out to eat. If you’re ready to learn more, here’s our favorite sushi recipe to make at home.
Ingredients and Equipment
For our sushi roll, you’ll need six sheets of sushi seaweed, which is also known as nori, one batch of prepared sushi rice, a half-pound of sushi grade raw salmon or another desired raw fish of your choice, four ounces of cream cheese, one avocado, and soy sauce. This is enough for six rolls of sushi.
You’ll want to have a rice paddle, a sharp knife, a bamboo mat, and a cutting board on hand for this recipe.

Instructions
Put your seaweed on the bamboo mat and cover the seaweed sheets with an even layer of sushi rice. Take time to gently smooth out any bumps with a rice paddle. Next, cut your salmon, cream cheese, and avocado into thin strips. Once cut, place them all on the rice in a row. Then, roll it up as tight as you can and cut it with a knife. Now you’re ready to enjoy your sushi. We love to serve our sushi with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi, but you can do as many or as few of these as you‘d like.
We love making this simple sushi recipe for our friends and family and we hope you do too!
